110.03.20-03.21 Scientific Writing in Public Health

The new course "Scientific Writing in Public Health" will invite a lecturer from Wallace in March. Information is shown below.
Time: 3/20 (Sat) and 3/21 (Sun), 10am-3pm
Place: the 4th conference room, Health Science Building. 
Course: (2 hours per unit)
Unit 1: structure and rationale of a scientific paper
Unit 2: tips on effective use of tables and figures in research papers
Unit 3: Word usage in scientific writing
Unit 4: Practical skills in writing and publishing journal/conference papers
 
All of you are welcome to join. If you'd like to participate, please e-mail me by March 4th to facilitate our preparation in advance (e.g., lunch).
 
In addition, students enrolled in this course are required to complete an English poster or journal paper by the end of the semester. In order to ensure that the content of the poster or journal paper submitted is from an approved study by the advisor and to facilitate advisor and advise's cooperation in future publication, students will invite their academic advisor to sign on the cover page of their homework before submission (3 assignments in this semester).   Please help guide your advises throughout the writing of a poster/paper.
